WESTMINSTER - Around noon on Saturday, workers at the Sandpiper Apartment complex were installing a railing outside when they saw the body of a woman on her patio.
Officers responded and found a woman in her late 70s or early 80s dead for an unknown period of time outside her apartment within a brick-walled section of her porch near 82nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.
Investigator Cheri Spottke says it is possible the woman died from natural causes, but there are some circumstances that could lead to a possible homicide.
"We do have some wounds that we are concerned about," Spottke said. "We're not exactly sure how they were caused yet, so we want to take time to investigate those and look into them and that will be done during autopsy."
Spottke did say that at this time, there is no immediate danger to the public.
