USA TODAY - You thought the Django Unchained pairing of Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx on a quest of big-screen vengeance was different? Well, how about January Jones and Ed Harris?
The Mad Men actress and Pollock star are an odd couple with an abundance of bloodlust in the period Western Sweetwater.
A standout at this year's Sundance Film Festival, Jones is Sarah Ramirez, a gun-toting beauty and former prostitute in New Mexico who runs afoul of Josiah, a deadly religious zealot (and plain terrible neighbor) played by Jason Isaacs.
Sarah's husband (Eduardo Noriega) is gunned down, she turns into a pistol-packing vigilante in purple, and Harris, as the quirkiest sheriff ever, gets caught in the crossfire. His Sheriff Jackson ends up getting crucified - literally, and upside down to boot - but teams with Jones' character to dole out some good old-fashioned 1880s-style justice.
The cast of Sweetwater, directed by Logan Miller, also includes country singer Jason Aldean and Stephen Root. The movie will be in select theaters and available on video on demand Oct. 11.
