KUSA - Photographer John Fielder's pictures are known the world over. For his latest project, he's focusing on something that's inspired visits to metro Denver for more than a century.
Denver Mountain Parks: 100 Years of the Magnificent Dream is both a historic record of the mountain park system-which includes Winter Park Resort, Red Rocks, Buffalo Bill's grave, and more-and a guidebook. It's all accompanied by Fielder's powerful landscape shots, as well as then and now images.
Proceeds from the book will go towards the Denver Mountain Parks Foundation.
Fielder is one busy guy. He's also choreographed 30 years of his Colorado nature photography to the words and music of John Denver, as performed by the John Adams Band which has committed themselves to keeping Denver's music alive.
The images will be projected onto a 30 foot screen above the stage of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House as part of a one-night performance.
John Denver "The Tribute" Sights & Sounds of Colorado will be at the Ellie on Friday, October 18 at 7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from the performance will also benefit the Denver Mountain Parks Foundation.
