FORT COLLINS - A cyclist from Boulder died after colliding with a pickup in south Fort Collins on Tuesday evening.
James Fogelberg, 64, was rushed with serious injuries to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, where he later died, according to Fort Collins Police Services.
Fogelberg was traveling in the bicycle lane east on Harmony Road when a 2004 Nissan Titan driven by Bradley Hansen, 50, of Fort Collins made a left turn onto Hinsdale Drive in front of him, according to police. The front of the bicycle collided with the passenger side of the truck.
Police were called to the scene at about 6:02 p.m. and closed Harmony between Shields and Mason streets for about 3½ hours to investigate. Alcohol, speed or distraction are not believed to have contributed to the collision, according to police.
Fogelberg was wearing a helmet. The investigation continues, and charges are pending, police say.
Anyone with information about the crash who hasn't already given a statement is asked to call officer Drew Jurkofsky at (970) 221-6555.
