STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A preliminary hearing has been set for a woman accused of fatally shooting her 9-year-old son before trying to kill herself in her Routt County home in May.
The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports Lisa Lesyshen is being held in the Denver County Jail infirmary because the Routt County Jail is not equipped to house her. She has no use of her legs and some use of her arms after authorities say she tried to commit suicide.
The Nov. 13 preliminary hearing also will be held in Denver.
Lesyshen is accused of shooting her son Asher Lesyshen-Kirlan multiple times before shooting herself in the neck in her home in Oak Creek, about 10 miles south of Steamboat Springs.
She and her husband, Michael Kirlan, were in the process of separating when the shooting occurred.
