KUSA - Colorado Child Passenger Safety reports 3 out of 4 kids are not in the right car seat. The organization says it's one of the reasons motor vehicles injuries are the leading cause of death among children between 3 and 14 years of age in the United States.
Camie Wewer, a child passenger safety technician instructor, attended the 9Health Fair in Denver Saturday.
Wewer instructed public about precautions parents need to take when putting their children in car seats.
Two key points to remember include: locking the seat belt so the car seat stays tight and reading the instructions that come with the seats.
