DENVER - An 87-year-old Bronco's fan received the biggest surprise of his life on Sunday at Sports Authority Field.
Mac Hilton had no clue he was going to attend Sunday's game, let alone get field passes and an autographed football from some of his favorite players.
"I told him he was going to the mountains, and I was going shopping," Mac's wife Neomi said. "I did a lot of lying!"
Mac Hilton hadn't been outside since January. His health is failing and part of his body is riddled with cancer. Mac is receiving care from his wife and Suncrest Hospice nurses. Suncrest helped set up Sunday's surprise for Mac.
"It's a blessing. It's exciting. I can't even tell you how I feel about it. It's unbelievable," his wife said.
It's difficult for Mac to speak, due to his illness. While doctors haven't given him a time table as to how long he has left, his family said he likely won't go outside again.
"He's an amazing man," his wife Neomi said.
When Mac's van arrived, a care taker helped unload him. She then proceeded to take off his blindfold as a crowd of family members and friends roared with excitement.
"Thank you," Mac mumbled.
Mac spent the rest of game watching his favorite team beat the Jaguars. His family says he hasn't been to a Broncos game since the 1990s.
