JEFFERSON COUNTY - On Wednesday at about 12:10 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received a call about a suspicious device found by a homeowner in the 10600 block of Dakan Mountain in south Jefferson County.
The Jeffco Bomb Squad responded and determined that the device was explosive in nature, and was able to render it safe without incident.
Through the course of the investigation, two adults and one juvenile were interviewed, one of which is a student at Chatfield High School. As a precaution, a search was performed of the school and nothing suspicious was found.
The investigation continues in the circumstances surrounding the explosive device. No arrests have been made.
