KUSA - A bear was captured in an east Boulder neighborhood today, but is back in the woods - because he's a first time offender.
Wildlife officials first tried to lure the bear out of a tree.
When that didn't work, they shot it twice with a tranquilizer gun.
It tried to run, but the drugs took effect and officers were able to capture it.
The bear, believed to be between 2 and 5 years old, didn't have a tag, so it was taken back to the woods.
This is the time of year bears pack on the pounds before hibernating.
It's a good reminder to keep your trash out of their reach.
