KUSA - About two dozen close friends and loved ones of an Edgewater man, gathered in his memory Sunday.
They met in the 2500 block of Sheridan Blvd. to pray and share stories about John Goggin. Friends of Goggin say he was shot and killed last Thursday, in a garage behind a home on Sheridan. A woman who owned the house said she had taken in Goggin three years ago, and he had been living 20 feet from her door ever since.
Shantel Barrows was inside her house, asleep when she said Goggin was shot. She claims she ran out and found the victim.
"It was traumatizing. I mean no one wants to see that, somebody they love just laying there," Barrows said. "You know, it was scary."
The deadly shooting in Edgewater, and the fact that no one has been arrested, has brought fear and grief into the community.
Police say a surveillance camera captured pictures of a man who may have witnessed the murder last week.
Investigators hope the photos can help lead them to making an arrest.
