KUSA - Denver Public Schools broke ground on two new schools Thursday at Verbena Street and Stoll Place in North Stapleton.
The DPS Board of Education approved two schools to open in August of 2014 at the Conservatory Green Campus.
The first school is the Denver School of Science and Technology, a middle school. The second is High Tech Elementary School.
They will eventually have 950 students when the full build-out is complete.
Denver Public schools announced just last week it was the fastest growing district of any city in the country.
