USA TODAY - It wasn't quite the formal spectacle of a St. James Palace photo-op. (After all, there was bare midriff involved.)
But last night's official public debut of an affianced Kim Kardashian and Kanye West was noteworthy nonetheless: It wasn't all about themselves. The future Mr. and Mrs. stepped out last night for the inaugural Dream for Future Africa Foundation Gala at Spago Beverly Hills alongside attendees such as Quincy Jones, Rachel Zoe and Dita Von Teese and a performance by Babyface.
Kimye looked relatively restrained, he in a black blazer over a T-shirt and she in a tight and white draped dress with just a flash of trim tummy peeking through.
Indeed, though all the talk of late has been about Kate Middleton's tiny post-baby waist, Kim is catching up in the celebrity taut-after-tot Olympics.
The red carpet poses, however, were classic Kim: Anyone who couldn't quite make out the grainy, sepia shots of her 15-carat rock from the other night got a full, clear gander, as the future bride helpfully brandished her bauble for the cameras.
