SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake City police say a woman is dead and a man is injured after they apparently fell asleep in the path of a train.
Police Lt. Scott White says a Union Pacific engineer called about 2 a.m. Sunday saying he may have just hit two people.
Authorities who responded say they found a woman in her 40s had lost an arm and died.
White tells The Salt Lake Tribune that the man, who's also in his 40s, was so intoxicated he didn't realize he'd been hit.
Officials say he had a broken leg and was taken to the hospital.
