STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Police say a Colorado man's pumpkin decoration made him the suspect in several cases where properties were vandalized with graffiti in Steamboat Springs.
Authorities say they followed a pattern of graffiti on properties downtown to the home of 22-year-old Bo Wenger on Wednesday morning. There, the Steamboat Pilot & Today reports they found a pumpkin with graffiti similar to that seen on buildings, homes, and other properties that had been tagged Tuesday night in the mountain resort community.
Sgt. John McCartin says police contacted Wenger and he acknowledged he was responsible for the graffiti.
Wenger was booked into the Routt County jail. He faces a charge of felony criminal mischief with damage exceeding more than $1,000.
