BOSTON (AP) - Bostonians have turned out today to celebrate the improbable journey of their beloved Red Sox from last season's worst record in nearly half a century to World Series champions.
A "rolling rally" of duck boats left Fenway Park this morning, making its way through the city and into the Charles River. The vehicles paused at the spot where three people died in the Boston Marathon bombings, and outfielder Jonny Gomes (gohmz) set the World Series trophy on the finish line.
The Red Sox won the World Series Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6.
