Xcel is asking anyone in the area from Havana Street to Santa Fe Drive, and from Interstate 70 down to Alameda Avenue to conserve energy from 10 a.m. until midnight Friday. With high temperatures, Xcel expects to see an increase in usage that could lead to power delivery issues in the area.
This request comes after the Harrison Substation fire on June 7 left the power station damaged. This is not the first time Xcel has asked this area to conserve power.
