Four members of the movement met with the mayor Tuesday afternoon for about a half hour.
They asked for the meeting, which the mayor's office says was a good way to open up lines of communication.
The meeting prompted lots of activity on Twitter, including one tweet which was tweeted over and over again that said: "His Majesty King Michael Hancock, ruler of the Kingdom of Denver, says he'll allow Occupy Denver to continue, as if it's 'his' power to decide."
It is his decision to keep officers at the protest, which he says he will to do keep the peace.
He also told protesters they can't bring back their tents, even just one to keep their food in.
The mayor told protesters to keep exercising their right to free speech, but also respect the law.
