Icelantic, a Denver-based ski manufacturing company, is teaming up with entertainment group AEG Rocky Mountains to put on "Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks."
The show, scheduled for Jan. 27, 2012, will headline with Minnesota-based Atmosphere - a hip-hop artist who has sold out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in the past and has released seven official studio albums.
Other artists booked for the concert include Common, Grieves & Budo, Get Cryphy.
Tickets are $39.50 and go on sale on Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. They are available through Ticketmaster and the box office at Ogden Theatre.
The event will be held in conjunction with the SIA SnowShow, SnowSports Industries of America's largest and most comprehensive trade show at the Colorado Convention Center.
Aubrey Cornelius, a media relations spokesperson working on the project, said there are no estimates available on the economic impact the show could have but Red Rocks will have to bring back workers from the regular season or hire temporary workers.
She says it is too soon to tell if this event will return or if Red Rocks will expand on possible Winter concert opportunities but says all of the partners working on "Winter on the Rocks" are excited about the possibilities.
Red Rocks concert "season" is usually from May to September.
