Yong is a musician and that is how he makes a living. His friends emailed 9NEWS to tell us about it.

Yong is in the process of moving. Monday night after playing a gig, he went to grab a drink at Denver's Mercury Café.

When he came out about an hour later, all his instruments and a laptop were gone, stolen from his car.

"These things are my livelihood," he said. "Basically, what was taken away from me was everything that I need to, first of all, make a living as a musician, and secondly, do the work to fulfill my mission of building cultural bridges, bringing peace, promoting peace through music."

Denver Police say they're investigating. They also tell us a similar thing happened to Yong five years ago.

Yong says he filed a report in that case, which involved his band's van. He didn't personally lose anything in that burglary.
