As 9Wants to Know reported Tuesday night, a pilot of a corporate jet reported to air traffic control that the mysterious object caught his eye while flying 8,000 feet over Cherry Creek. The mystery object did not show up on radar.

The FAA says it is still looking into the matter.

Earlier on Wednesday, a local sheriff's office said Wednesday it may have an explanation for the mysterious object.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office says deputies found a 14-foot solar bag Tuesday around noon. It's basically a weather balloon that looks like a long, black pool noodle.

The FAA has not confirmed if the object is the solar bag.
