Treatment works when it is accessible.
Mental illnesses are biological brain disorders. Like other illnesses, they require medical treatment for recovery. With proper care and treatment, 70 to 90 percent of persons with mental illnesses experience a significant reduction of symptoms and an improved quality of life.
Knowing where to turn for help can change lives.
The crisis hotline at Metro Crisis Services offers free, direct services to Coloradoans for mental health and substance abuse crises, information, and resource referrals.
The Crisis Line (1-888-885-1222) is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by experienced and licensed mental health professionals who provide support, consultation and assistance to anyone in the community who may need it; individuals, concerned family and friends, treatment providers, law enforcement and first responders.
Counselors are trained in various mental health and substance issues, have knowledge on and direct relationships with local resources, engage in immediate problem solving, and make follow up calls to ensure continued care.
The Program Services Directory is a free online service also offered by Metro Crisis Services encompassing over 3,000 different providers, assistance programs, and support resources throughout the community. The free directory can be accessed through the website, www.metrocrisisservices.org, or by calling the crisis hotline, Website users can search online for resources and agencies by name, type of problem or illness, and location.
