Police were serving a warrant at 1804 30th Street in Greeley when he called 911 and told dispatchers he would shoot officers. It happened around 3 p.m.

The man then took a female acquaintance hostage. The ordeal lasted several hours, during which the man shot off a single gunshot. No one was hit.

Police are releasing very few details, but say the hostage taker was eventually shot and killed. The female hostage was unharmed.
