Lieutenant Colonel Rose, a father of two students at the school, made a surprise homecoming after spending several months in Qatar.
Colton, a third-grader, and Oak Leigh, a first-grader, have been counting down the more than 200 days since their father was deployed
Over the long months the kids only saw their dad on Skype. In fact, it became a Sunday tradition in the family with Colton working out math problems with dad over the Internet.
Rose serves as a full time active duty reservist for Space Command based at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. He is an Air Force Academy graduate. He plans on retiring this October.
