Sandra Tucker resigned after writing on a local website that a Democrat is worse than "being a black disabled one-armed drug addicted Jewish queer" who has a "Mexican boyfriend." The site was a community forum and advertising platform for local businesses.

The 66-year-old Tucker tells The Denver Post she was joking but "learned not everyone has a sense of humor." She added that she is a strong candidate and is not racist.

Tucker is running against Mayor Charles Sigman, who says he is not going to make her comment an issue in the campaign.
