Lawrence Crouch was advised in court Monday that he faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Mary McGrath on Friday. She worked at a shop owned by Bob Wisdom. The Daily Camera reports an arrest affidavit says all three had once been roommates.
The affidavit says Crouch allegedly told police he planned the shooting at least a year earlier and wanted to kill McGrath because he thought she took advantage of Wisdom.
The affidavit says Crouch planned to also kill himself and an employee at the Lakewood motel where he was living but didn't follow through.
Crouch is due back in court Thursday.
