On June 22, authorities say the juvenile gathered up leaves and underbrush around a bush and using a lighter, lit the underbrush causing it to burn and ignite nearby timber on government land.
The Weber Fire burned more than 10,000 acres near Mancos and caused more than $5 million in damages.
The defendant will receive a summons to appear in federal court in Durango.
