Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Rev. Derek Barber King, Sr. is a well known preacher, instructor and activist.
He's taken up his uncle's causes, fighting racism, discrimination, oppression and violence.
King was just 14-years-old when his uncle died.
He says he didn't really understand and embrace his uncle's message until he went off to college.
The legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored with numerous events on Monday, including the annual "Marade" starting at the Dr. King memorial site at City Park.
