It broke out a little before 4 a.m. in the Founders subdivision on Bennington Avenue about three miles east of Castle Rock.
According to the residents of the damaged home, they heard a crackling noise which is what startled them awake.
"It was like, orange," neighbor Jenni Hynek said. "All you could see was the glow of the fire. I couldn't find my dog, and I opened my garage door which is looking directly at their house, and I opened my door, and the flames just came right in."
The people in the home also knocked on their neighbor's door and had them evacuate too. They were having a kid's sleepover at the time.
No one was injured, and the cause the still under investigation.
Fire officials think the fire started in the back by the garage.
