GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - A former Colorado resident who became a professional poker player in England has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in the death of his wife.
Marcus Bebb-Jones originally was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Sabrina Bebb-Jones, who disappeared in 1997. A rancher found her skull in 2004. British police later arrested Bebb-Jones, and he was extradited.
The Daily Sentinel reports Bebb-Jones pleaded guilty Friday in Grand Junction, Colo., to second-degree murder in the heat of passion.
Prosecutors say that under terms of a plea deal, Bebb-Jones would serve no more than 20 years in prison. A sentencing hearing is set for May 1.
The plea deal also dismisses a harassment charge against Bebb-Jones stemming from a fight with another inmate.
