DENVER - At only 20 years old, one Colorado woman can call herself a published poet.
Victoria Cardenas' poetry touches on very personal topics including her parent's divorce, breakups and living on her own.
"It starts out really light-hearted and progressively descends into the darkness," Cardenas said.
She says poetry is a dying talent among her peers and hopes the inclusion of art and music will help spark a renewed interest in her genre.
"A Progressive Descent into Darkness," illustrated by Travis Jenks, is available at the Tattered Cover Book Stores.
A book release signing party will be held at Blake Street Tavern on Feb. 16 starting at 7 p.m.
