DENVER - District officials tell us a "mid-level manager" in the technology department" is on paid leave while an internal investigation is carried out. Bud Bullard is accused of accepting perks from companies in exchange for his influence in accepting contracts.
The investigation was launched about two weeks ago after a tip came into administrative offices of Denver Public Schools. The allegations involve the acceptance of travel for himself and/or family members from vendors looking to sign contracts with DPS.
Bullard is listed as Director of Network & System Administration in charge of Information Technologies. He is credited with being instrumental in the installation of a broad WiFi network across the school district.
School district officials released the following statement:
These are serious allegations, and we are in the process of conducting a thorough investigation. While that is taking place, the employee is on administrative leave.
