DENVER - Nearly two dozen cats rescued from a hoarding situation in Wyoming are looking for new homes in the Denver metro area.

Wednesday, 20 cats arrived at the Denver Animal Shelter on West Bayaud Avenue after a five hour drive from Casper.

In September of last year, more than 200 cats were rescued from a hoarder. Only about 80 of them were healthy enough to be adopted out. And even the ones at the shelter will need a little extra care.

Because the cats have minor medical issues, such as respiratory infections, the adoption fees are reduced to $50.

That fee includes spaying or neutering and vaccinations for one year. The cats will available for adoption starting this Saturday.
