GOLDEN - Five juvenile boys accused of stealing guns from a home that were later discovered on Standley Lake High School grounds were charged in Jefferson County Monday.

Two of the five juveniles were charged with theft by receiving. The other three male juveniles, two 16 year olds and a 15-year-old, were charged with felony counts of second-degree burglary, possession of deadly weapons on school grounds and theft.

A Standley Lake High School campus supervisor discovered three hunting rifles and a shotgun between two sheds by the athletic fields Feb. 20. The Westminster school was on lockout shortly after the guns were found.

Police say the guns were stolen from a home that backs directly up to the athletic fields at the school. Police say there was not a direct threat to the high school.
