ASPEN - A dog lost for nine days on Independence Pass is back home and in relatively good shape, considering what she's been through.
Sophie - a four-year-old Shar Pei - got away from her owner and another dog while out for a walk on the pass.
Sophie's owner stayed up there until midnight looking for Sophie with no luck and then posted signs around Aspen hoping someone would see her.
Monday, Sophie was spotted by another dog walker. When that person offered a treat, Sophie came running.
Sophie has a little frostbite on her nose and paws and is a few pounds lighter, otherwise she is doing OK.
