Kirk joined the 9NEWS team as Entertainment Reporter Anchor in March 2001. Kirk's E-block can be seen weekdays on 4 o'clock at 9NEWS, and 9NEWS at 9 p.m. Kirk is often heard on KOSI - Radio giving his suggestions for weekend fun.

Kirk was born in Detroit, and grew up in Milford, Michigan.

Kirk's interest in entertainment started at an early age when he acted, sang and danced in high school. Kirk also worked on a number of television shows in the late 1980's and has the dubious distinction of being Pauly Shore's body double in the really bad horror movie "Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge."

The film also starred Morgan Fairchild!

Kirk sings, enjoys reading, music, and collecting 60s lunch-boxes from eBay!

Kirk's professional career started in radio in Jackson, Michigan. He has held various positions in broadcasting, working in Los Angeles, CA Tampa, FL. Detroit, MI. Chico, CA. and Lansing, MI.

Kirk has also appeared on "Days of our Lives,""Passions", "Scrubs," "General Hospital," "Third Watch" and "Ed." Kirk also has a cameo in the motion picture "Suburban". Kirk will also appear in the Independent film "A Gathering of Heroes" starring Christopher Atkins, and "Serpent Rising". He also appeard in the NBC's hit "The Event".

Kirk will next be seen in the feature film "Fishing Naked" with Elaine Miles and Bronson Pellitier. Kirk just finished shooting the feature "Tengu: The Immortal Blade" with Louis Mandylor

 Kirk has appeared on stage in " Love Letters" with Lannie Garrett, and the award winning "Stories on Stage" at the DCPA, "The Laramie Project: 10 Years On" and "Spalding Gray: Stories Left Untold" both at DU's Newman Center.

Kirk was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2000, and 2004. Kirk won the Emmy in 2003,2005,2007 and again in 2008. He has won numerous Associated Press awards,a TV Enterprise award from the C.A.B.J and won a "Best Of" award from "Westword" in 2004 and 2005. He also won a Colorado Association of Broadcasters Award in 2011.

Kirk is also an accomplished singer, having shared the stage with Dianne Reeves, Opie Gone Bad, Lannie Garrett, and Matt Morris. Kirk has also recorded a number of songs, often sold for charity. Kirk has sung live at a number of public events.

Kirk also spends time volunteering for numerous charities in Colorado.

Kirk enjoys living in Downtown Denver with his best friend Joey, a cocker spaniel, and discovering everything the area has to offer.
