Rod Mackey joined 9News in October of 2000 as the weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter.
Rod grew up in Colorado and graduated from C.U. He began his broadcasting career at KSKE Radio in Vail. Rod's first television job was as the weekend sports anchor/reporter at KEVN-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota. Two years later he left for KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he worked for five years. Rod's final stop before Denver was at KUSI-TV in San Diego, California.
Rod loves skiing, both water and snow. He also enjoys playing tennis, hockey, and running. Rod is married with three children and an Old English Sheepdog.
