I'm an investigative reporter at the NBC station in Denver, 9NEWS. If there's one thing I love, it's traveling. I've been lucky enough to go many places in the world. My favorites: Israel and Brazil. I'm a skier. I like country music and I grew up on a cattle ranch in Washington State.
For some reason everyone finds it funny (or tough to believe) that I grew up living on a cattle ranch.
My weakness is good food and a dirty vodka martini.
I work for 9NEWS in Denver. I'm a different type of investigative reporter. I focus on building relationships with the people I cover.
I joined the 9Wants to Know team as an investigative reporter in October of 2007.
My best work accomplishment is winning the Columbia duPont Award. I've been lucky enough to win two Emmy awards, win the Edward R. Murrow award and be nominated for a national Emmy award while at 9NEWS. In 2013, the Investigative Reporters and Editors group recognized the "Failed to Death" series (on Colorado's child welfare system) as a finalist in the Freedom of Information category.
I'm active on Facebook, Twitter and all the other social media sites.
What do I investigate? Everything? I want to know about the person wasting your tax money. Who is spending our money at expensive restaurants or taking expensive work trips that aren't really needed? The next time you think to yourself, 'That's not right,' I want you to email me.
If you decide to join me in the social media conversation, you'll see plenty of pictures of my awesome dog. Rocky is an Italian Greyhound. He's really like my kid.
Speaking of kids, I have none of those.
Before moving to Denver, I worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Quincy, Illinois. I went to Principia College near St. Louis.
If you still haven't had enough of me, here are a few of my favorite stories.
