On this day, 850 dentists in Colorado with join thousands of dentists nationwide in volunteering their services to help deserving children. It is estimated more than 4,000 uninsured children in Colorado will benefit from this effort.

Appointments are required. Free cleanings and sealants are being offered through the Community College of Denver of Dental Hygiene (CCD). To schedule an appointment you can call CCD at 303-365-8303 or go to http://www.cdaonline.org/gkasappointments.htm.

Dental decay is most prevalent and preventable chronic disease of childhood. Pain, loss of sleep, poor eating habits and poor performance and attendance in school can often be linked to poor oral health.

Give Kids a Smile day is meant to accomplish two things - help children get the dental care they need and raise awareness about the importance of dental health.
