A team of researchers led by the National Cancer Institute found the effects - regardless of body weight.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommend we get two-and-a-half hours of moderate intensity a week, meaning activity vigorous enough that you can talk but not sing.

But in the study, those who reported twice that level of leisure-time physical activity gained 4.2 years life expectancy.

Even those who got half the recommended amount of physical activity still added nearly two years to their life.
