It happened around 6:45 p.m. at New Freedom Park near East 13th Avenue and Xenia Street.

Police say a fight between two rival gangs escalated when the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim in the hip and nose.

The victim walked a half-mile to a friend's house near East 14th Avenue and Boston Street where police found him. He is expected to be OK.

The suspect was identified by police as Ronald Green.
