Aurora's two single-stream recycling drop-off sites are accepting signs to recycle them.
The locations are: Central Facilities Center, 13646 E. Ellsworth Ave. (on the south side of the city's Wastewater/Stormwater lot) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; or Saddle Rock Golf Maintenance Center, 21705 E. Arapahoe Road (across the street from the golf course) from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Alpine Recycling also has drop off sites, November 6th-23rd in
Arvada at 6161 Old Wadsworth Boulevard.
They're also taking therm in Lone Tree at the Lone Tree Municipal Building at 9220 Kimmer Drive. The drop-off site will be on the east side of the parking lot. The recycle bin can be accessed from Teddy Lane or Kimmer Drive.
Even if you don't live in a city with a large-scale election-sign recycling program, you can undertake a small-scale program of your own. Call your friends. Ask them to recycle their signs or offer to do it for them. If you see a lonely sign flapping in the wind, collect it and ad it to your sign-pile.
If you really want to show some initiative, knock on doors and ask to collect the signs from people's yards. Call 1-800-CLEANUP for recycling tips and information or visit www.earth911.com
