Tyler was the first African-American female to host the E!'s Emmy-winning Talk Soup. She currently voices Lane Kane on FX's animated series, Archer. She is also on CBS' "The Talk" with Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen.
She also appeared on "The Tonight Show," "Late Night with David Letterman" and "The Today Show."
Tyler talked about her history with stand-up and how it fits in with her acting career.
"This is my 20th year doing stand up, and I love it. It is something that I am so passionate about, and I never wanted to give it up. So, obviously I'm doing all of these other things, but I get out on the weekends to do my shows, and I'm working on another comedy special," Tyler.
She talked about her upcoming show and how it compares to her past performances.
"People saw my Comedy Central special 'Aisha Tyler Is Lit.' This is a brand new hour, all new material and my opportunity to be edgy. It's a grown-up show, you know I don't get to be naughty on 'The Talk.' I try to be naughty, but I don't get to be naughty there," Tyler said.
Tyler also talked about a new cause she is trying to raise awareness for.
"I'm doing the 'Go Red for Women' luncheon today. It's a lunch in to raise funds and awareness about women's heard disease. People don't know [and] most women probably don't know that heart disease is the number one killer of women as well as men, [but] the symptoms are different for women. It's harder sometimes for women to recognize the [symptoms]. So this is really a lunch in to make people aware of the symptoms, how to change their lives for the better, how to eat healthy," Tyler said.
