FORT COLLINS - Colorado State University is celebrating Black History Month throughout February with a lineup of lectures, discussions, films, networking and more starting Friday.

This year's theme is "Roots: Regulating our own Trail to Success," accompanied by a showing of the three-part mini-series "Roots."

• Friday: Noon kickoff, Lory Student Center Commons. Hear Fort Collins Mayor Karen Weitkunat's proclamation, and enjoy refreshments, song and dance. There is no cost to attend.

• Monday: 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. showings of "Their Eyes Were Watching God," LSC 204.

• Tuesday: 4 p.m., "Reverse Diverse" career fair, LSC Theater.

• Wednesday: Noon, lunch with CSU black faculty/staff, LSC 224-226; 4 p.m., talk "Are Black Women the Mules of the World?" LSC 204; 6 p.m., Eddie Moore Jr.'s "The Niggar(er) Word: Is There a Message in the Madness?" LSC Grey Rock Toom.
