Now we're hearing from Tillman for the first time about how she wouldn't let Forbes' plans end her life.

On Sunday, a fundraiser was held in Fort Collins with all proceeds going to Tillman's medical expenses.

The fundraiser was started by Tillman's next door neighbor at the apartment where it all happened.

On July 5, Forbes beat and raped Tillman, then started her apartment on fire to get rid of the evidence.

Tillman was able to escape by jumping from a second story window, but she suffered a stroke and nerve damage.

Tillman said she's chosen not to be angry about what happened.

"My anger doesn't help anything, including me and him, it's pointless," she said.

Sunday's fundraiser consisted of three yoga classes with voluntary donations to benefit Tillman.
