"I know two instances where I personally, you know, pulled someone from a burning building," Forster said.

But, there was one instance that he will never forget. About 28 years ago, Forster and two other firefighters delivered their first baby at a home in town.

"There have been lots of babies since then, but that's the one that always sticks out in your mind," said Forster.

That's the one who wanted to surprise Forster at his retirement party Saturday afternoon.

"I haven't seen him since my first birthday," said Justine Tucker. "He might recognize my parents, but I don't think he'll recognize me."

Tucker walks into the celebration and greets Forster right away.

"Do you remember me?" asked Tucker.

"Yes, I sure do," said Forster, while reaching for a hug.

Forster claims he saw Tucker about seven years ago in Sturgis, South Dakota with her father. But, Tucker says she does not remember that. Either way, Saturday was the first time she and all three fire fighters were reunited in more than 25 years.

"To see her again today was a really big surprise," said Forster.
They relieved the day joking about how Tucker's father was stressed. Luckily, Forster says, he and his partners were trained to handle the situation even though it was their first delivery.

"Very calm, they all were," said Kitty Alvarado, Tucker's mother. "You'd never know it was the first baby they ever delivered. Thankfully, I didn't know that."

Tucker just wanted to thank the man who brought her into this life giving him one special delivery from his first delivery.

"I hope I made his retirement just a little more special and remind him why he was a fireman for so long," said Tucker.
Forster says he's glad she came.

"Those are the memories that you'll just have forever," said Forster.
