This autumn, northern Switzerland received only 40 to 70 percent of the usual precipitation for this time of year.
While there has been less rain and virtually no snow, there was up to 30 percent more sunshine.
At one ski resort, a new lift was inaugurated, but it has been largely unused while skiers wait for snow.
