"This very special to win again," Wray coach David Reed said. "These opportunities are rare, and it feels very exciting to win again."

The Eagles (26-1) won the seventh girls basketball state title in school history. Wray just missed winning state three years in a row -- it lost 65-58 in double overtime to Limon in the 2007 championship game.

This was Paonia's best finish in school history in girls basketball. Paonia's 1991 team finished third in 1991.

"The biggest difference in this game is that they hit their shots and we didn't," Paonia coach Scott Rienks said. "We also made some mistakes that hurt us, but I'm very proud of the way my girls played."
