Web workouts are the new wave
|
KUSA - As with everything else, workouts are moving to the Web, and by this we mean an interactive workout with a personal trainer via Web cam. ![]() Peggy Green owner of Whole Body Fitness, joined Susie Wargin Tuesday morning for Wargin workouts to demonstrate a few of the exercises offered through her programs and to talk about her Fitcam workouts. The programs offered can help you manage your weight, strengthen your heart and lungs, improve your mood, promote better sleep, combat and prevent chronic diseases and build and maintain healthy muscles, bones and joints. As these programs are offered via the Internet, participants are required to have a Web cam and access to Skype or a similar platform. Peggy says this is a great way for people to work out in the privacy of their home, yet unlike a DVD, you can get feedback on how you are doing. "You can have it be on a personal level with one-on-one, or you can get up to five other people in addition to me in a group at five different remote locations," Green explained. Most of the exercises require little room and not much equipment. As demonstrated on the video player to the right, light free weights and exercises balls are usually all you need. A list of classes and schedules are listed online at www.wholebodyfitnesscolorado.com. "Because of the limited size availability of the platform, people need to contact me directly to sign up for the classes," Green said. Green is a certified trainer and coach and also possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science - Adult Fitness.
