LITTLETON - Imagine the surprise players and fans were greeted with at the Unified basketball game when several Denver Nuggets players, dancers and Rocky the mascot walked into the gym at Heritage High School Monday night.

Both Heritage and the Nuggets decided to keep it a secret that professional basketball stars would attend the game against Littleton.

The Nuggets players included Chris Andersen, Kenneth Faried, Corey Brewer and Kosta Koufos, who acted as guest coaches for the teams and helped cheer on the participants.

"They were taking excellent shots and everybody was playing team ball," Nuggets forward Chris Andersen said. "That's why I like to come out here and be a part of the Heritage High School tradition. This is my second year doing it and I plan on doing it in the future."

Unified basketball is a partnership between students with special needs and the general student population who work together on the court playing modified basketball.
