One of the many intriguing signing day stories comes out of Frederick. Where until signing day the Warriors had never sent a scholarship athlete to the Division one Level.
It's a milestone signing day at Frederick High school.
The Warriors go from 0 athletes at the DI level, to 2.
"I really feel like it's probably the most important day of my life," senior Alex Godinez told 9News.
Alex and her long time teammate Jacqueline Rigali are changing Warrior history together.
"Well it's kind of big," said Rigali, "It's a big honor I guess. I mean it's just exciting."
Rigali will be a forward at Coastal Carolina next year.
Godinez, a goaltender, takes her game to Depaul in Chicago.
They known eachother since 1st grade and now they take this big step together.
"I think it's really cool. I mean she's kind of like a sister to me," said Godinez.
"We've always done everything together thru soccer. And it's just been great. I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else and I'm glad it's her," Rigali told 9News.
It's the chance of a lifetime for these two girls and a first for Frederick High School.
"It's basically a dream come true," said Godinez.
